Fern wakes up and wants to clean the house, but forces herself to go back to sleep after using the bathroom.

Wakes up again, uses [...]
A few years ago, before kids when I had free time, I was working hard on compiling all of the family genealogy information that had been collected. Fern’s Grandfather had done a lot of work as had my Grandfather. I even produced a book in memory of Fern’s Grandparents. A couple of weeks ago Fern’s [...]
The good news is that Fern’s OB liked her birth plan. The neutral news is that she is still where she was last week actually the doctor said that she is 1-2 cm dilated and 50% effaced which is less than last week (maybe the doctor was optimistic last week). The bad news is that [...]
Here is the long overdue migration checklist that we used for our GroupWise to Exchange 2003 migration. Some of the steps are specific to our configuration that arose from problems we faced (see these postings for more detail 1, 2, and 3). We produced 1 sheet per user via Mail Merge. The techs would check [...]
Migrating Remote Office GroupWise Users to Exchange
0 Comments Published by kbn 4 years ago in TechieNow that we have finally finished the migration of our headquarter users from GroupWise to Exchange, we are getting started on our remote office users. Our current configuration consists of a GroupWise server in each of our 6 remote offices (no matter how small). Our goal with the Exchange 2003 migration is to consolidate as [...]
First Milestone in GroupWise to Exchange Migration
0 Comments Published by kbn 4 years ago in TechieWe reached our first (and most significant) milestone today in our migration from GroupWise to Exchange. We completed the migration of all of our users at our main headquarters office (roughly 260 people). It has been a long process. All in all things went well. Now we will start working on our outer offices. The [...]
The report from Fern’s doctor’s visit on Friday was 2.5 cm dilated, 60% effaced and 0 station. We’re just waiting now (not very patiently I might add).
I am continually amazed at the enjoyment that I get from listening to books on tape. My all-time favorite book is Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card. I’ve read it numerous times. The sequel to Ender’s Game is Speaker for the Dead. While part of the Ender Saga, Speaker is a much different book. It [...]
Fern and Ellie joined me for lunch today. We had a great time. Ellie ate pizza and Fern and I had Mexican. Then they stopped in the office for a little while and Ellie drew a family portrait on me whiteboard (Daddy, Mommy, Ellie, Mommy’s baby in her tummy, Bud, Gator, Crab, and Chippy).
It was a busy weekend, on Satuday we did a lot shopping. This included picking up some things from Babies-R-Us. We purchased some odds and ends for the new baby as well as a new booster car seat for Ellie. She had just about grown out of her old one and we wanted to get [...]
