Once again, my love hate relationship with Microsoft rears it ugly head. Late last month our upgrade protection contract with Microsoft came do. Working with our vendor CDW, at the request from Microsoft, we tried to convert to an Enterprise Licensing Agreement. CDW had been successful getting out companies of our size to convert with [...]

Ellie is doing really well adjusting to being the big sister, but there has been some regression in her behavior and we are struggling with ways to effectively disciple her. Our feeling is that it is partly her age (we sometimes forget that she is only 3 3/4 years old) and partly the change in [...]
Ellie loves her little sister so much, that she gave Sarah her cold. Ellie had a cold earlier in the week (just some cough and sniffles), now Sarah has it too. Sarah is doing OK, but she has a hard time breathing so he have to routinely use a bulb syringe to clear her [...]
Home Networking with TCP/IP and Microsoft Windows
0 Comments Published by kbn 3 years, 11 months agoI was in need of an overview document on home networking with TCP/IP and Microsoft Windows for a family memeber and I found this site. At first glance it seems to cover the basics pretty well.
Ran into a couple of issues related to time synchronization at the office this morning. Long story short the PDC Emulator machine needs to be manually set to time sync to an external time source (makes sense, but ours was not). Microsoft’s Server 2003 Windows Time Service page provided the necessary steps to correct the situation.
Fern has added a bunch more pictures to our gallery at least one picture a day for Sarah’s first 17 days. It looks like I’m going to need to restructure the gallery because it is getting really slow. Oh well, another task for another day. Enjoy the new picts.
In need of some free software for your windows machine? Manish Bansal presents a good list of Freeware Suggestions for Windows, of which I have used a fair number and can recommend. via: neil’s world

Obvious Diversion - The Case Against the Archive Calendar
0 Comments Published by kbn 3 years, 11 months agoObvious Diversion makes The Case Against the Archive Calendar on blogs. He and the commentors make some good points. Who know, maybe I’ll remove my calendar.
I replaced the car battery today (it had gotten run down last weekend). I typically would have gone to Sears, but we have WalMart close by and sure enough they sell car batteries. So that’s what I got (only a 2 year warranty, but it was cheap).
After my fiasco with deleting my weblog database, I just installed this script, Automatic MySQL Backup, so that I can backup all my databases automatically.
I have a love - hate relationship with books on tape. I love them for a great many reasons, but I borrow them from the library and sometimes they are damaged. I’ve been listening to The Bear and Dargon by Tom Clancy. It’s a 31 tape book, and the last 5 tapes are all damaged. [...]
Due to a dumb mistake (deleting my old blog database by accident), I was sort of forced to into migrating my blog to new software. Becuase I was playing with WordPress before the accident, that is what I went with. I still have a lot to due to fix everything, but we’re slowly coming back [...]
