We have two close friends that have decided that they are being called to go to medical school. This will be a second career for both of them. After a year of hard work of studying, preparing, test taking, applications, and interviews they’ve gotten their acceptances and scholarships and finally announced that they will be [...]
Fern and I are getting new cell phone (I’ll post about it when they arrive) so we needed to update our cell phone accessories. I did a bunch of searching and I found what I thought were the best prices for items at BarginCell.Com. But one more search revealed that they had a an eBay store BargainCell@eBay. So last night we ordered, 2 car charges, 2 hands free kits (really cheap ones), 1 holster, 1 leather case, and 1 data cable. All for less than $16. That total was less than the data cable at their main site. We’ll probably have to wait a few days for the items to ship, but the saving should be worth it.

Simpla is a nice clean theme developed by Phu Ly as part of his “a theme a day” week. If I wasn’t running K2, I might have gone with Simpla.
The Meaning of Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF)
0 Comments Published by kbn 2 years, 5 months ago in TechieOne of my guys emailed me this, I wish I knew where it came for so I could give credit. This goes a long way towards explaining why we’ve seen so many problems with supposedly good hardware.
You’ve probably seen hardware manufacturers talk about the Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) for their equipment. For example, disk [...]
Thanks to the server outage, I’ve had plenty of time tonight to upgrade my entire site. I’ll post later what I did and all of the changes that I made (and the fixes that I had to hack together). There are still a couple of things that I want to do and/or correct. I’ll [...]
Well, we’re at it again. For the 4th time in six months our lovely Dell PowerVault 220s drive array has died on us. What a piece of junk these things are. The pattern is the same as before (even with the patch that supposedly would fix our problems). A drive goes bad in the array. [...]
Well, at least it was my fault this time. I don’t know what it is about this family and minivans. We seem to the knack for getting into accidents with them. On Sunday as I was backing out of the church parking lot while trying to avoid hitting the parked cars, I scrapped the front [...]
Who would have thought that we would travel from one extreme to the other so quickly. In my previous post I talked about what a great day we had. Well the very next day, Sunday, was one of the worst ever. Ellie was amazingly difficult, she argued and fought over everything. She scream, she cried, [...]
